I just received these, and while my Treo was on (with the status indicators visible) I replaced the stock stylus with one of the ones in the three-pack. Instantly, I went from ~4 bars of signal to zero bars. I replaced the stylus with the one that came with, and as soon as I removed the new stylus from the slot, my signal strength bounced back to ~4 bars.
Stay away from these if you want to use your Treo as a cellphone.
