TC Review: Smartphone Experts SafeGuard MetalCase for Treo 755p, 750, 680
Reviewed by Jennifer Chappell
I've been using the Smartphone SafeGuard MetalCase for several weeks and this is a very nice case. This case is for the Treo 755p, 750, and 680. In the package, you get the metal case, which comes in either Chrome or Champagne, and a belt clip and screw/post. Since I carry most things in my handbag, I'm not one to normally carry a case on my side, so this is the perfect belt clip system for me. Instead of having one of those garish, permanently attached posts, this case has the convenient screw type mount. If you wish to carry the case without the belt clip, don't put the screw in the hole on the back of the case. Simple. Other than the small circular hump around the hole, the back of the case is flat and smooth without the screw in place. This makes it easy to carry the case in your pocket or to slip into a handbag or gadget bag.

The case is made of aircraft grade aluminum and has a tough anodized finish. I feel confident that my Treo won't get scratches or dents while inside this case. The inside of the case is lined in a velvity soft and protective neoprene. I really appreciate neoprene lined cases because my Treo doesn't get scratched when being put in or taken out of such a case. My Treo slid down in the case very easily. Both my Treo 680 and 750 fit perfectly in the case. The case holds a Treo nice and snug but not too snug, and it's easy to slide the Treo back out.

StarStarStarStarStar Nothings Perfect
User: R Stephens, Dec 31, 2007
I have an older Treo and have been using one or these cases for about 3 years now. Is it perfect .... no but I can tell you that I have dropped it more times than I care to count and my Treo is still in excellent condition. I work for a large company and we all have Treos. I see my coworkers’ phones and can tell you that this case is a good thing. What could be better? The belt clip is plastic and the stud on the case is metal. If you twist the phone when it is being carried on the clip it will pop out. I solved this by carrying the phone in my pocket. The only other complaint is when talking on the phone itself I have trouble hearing unless I open the front door. (Im old and deaf) There are sharp corners on the face of the phone with the door open and its not the most comfortable way to talk. However, I use a Bluetooth most of the time anyway so thats not a big deal. I guess the best recommendation that I can give is this ... my company is replacing my Treo with a new one and I am getting another case for it also.
StarStarStarStarStar Great Case
User: Mike Sarino, Jun 11, 2007

Pros:  Stylish and effective protection.
Cons:  Kinda hard to open until broken in.

This is a great case for general protection or your Treo 755p. Treo installation and removal is easy. I've gotten lots complements for style and innovative design.
StarStarStarStarStar Great protection, but
User: Art Nickel, Dec 2, 2007

Pros:  Bounce factor is great: no damage
Cons:  Hard to open/respond to text messages

I have had mine over two months and when sitting at home or in the office I take the phone out for access to the keys making the door/front removable would be a great idea.
For people with arthritis in hands this is a terrible choice this includes me, regretfully.
For others, especially those who work in the outdoors or drop things, the protection factor is outstanding.
I can only wonder how the airport security folks will react to it...
