Excellent Holster

This is an outstanding holster for a Treo 650, and I recommend it for anyone looking for an easy snap-on/off-type holder for their Treo. It holds the Treo securely, face-in, as well as covers the stylet and doesn't bother the SD card. The phone pops-out easily for answering, and the rotation assists in this maneuver. This is my second one, as a replacement for my first one which lasted 2 years of everyday use.

A big disappointment. Swivel clip detached from the body of the holster then the clip itself fractured. This all occured from simply bending over and sitting maneuvers. The fit of the Treo within the holster was less snug than with the origianl holster. The item lasted less than 3 weeks.

Today, I will be ordering my 3rd or 4th Seido holster for my Treo 650. When I first did research a few years ago, all the holsters I saw had the Treo screen outward-facing, which is unacceptable to me. Im a long-time Palm user, and I cant tell you how many screens Ive cracked when I bumped into the corner of a desk or door. I wanted a holster with the screen inward-facing. At the time, the Seido Swivel Clip was the only holster I found with the screen inward-facing. (There may be others on the market now.)
Overall, Id say that Ive been satisfied with this holster. The phone fits in the holster very snug, and its easy to release the phone quickly from it. The holster has not caused me to lose a memory card, nor has the memory card ever come loose.
However, there is one problem this holster suffers from, and many other reviewers have already pointed this out. The swivel clip wears out after 6 to 9 months, causing the phone to hang too loosely on my belt. This is bad, because it allows the phone to snag onto obstacles: such as the arm of my desk chair, my coat (when taking off), or the seat belt of my car. This causes the phone to get pulled out of the holster, and on several occasions, I have seen my phone fall several feet to the ground. One day, the screen finally cracked.
So now, rather than suffer the potential of another cracked screen, I simply order another holster as soon as the swivel clip becomes loose. But at $30, this holster is a terrible value, when Im replacing it every 6 to 9 months. However, I havent found any reasonable alternative.
Perhaps for this next Seidel holster, I will consider using super-glue to permanently set the swivel in the upright position.
Too Secure

I love a holster design. I had the Cellet holster, but after it fell out 5 times in the first week and scratched the case, I gave up. The clip holds a 1 mm lip in the design. Not to secure. The holster is VERY secure. So secure that it ruined the finish clipping in for only a week. It also doesnt easily clip in straight with one hand. If placed on cockeyed, the clip will eject the card.

Maybe I just had a lemon but the clip broke relatively soon and I could get no satisfaction from the manufacturer.
