Great expectations
User: B Moore, Mar 14, 2007
Pros: Aesthetics, audio out
Cons: Stability, hotsync button, connection
Yes, I had great expectations for the Seidio charging cradle but after about 6 months of use I have experienced several shortcomings.
First, it is very difficult to seat the treo using only one hand. It needs more weight and the actual connector is hinged (for unknown reasons) so that it is a moving target; also, there is no hardward to guide the treo into the cradle. Can't remove it single handedly either.
Second, the softkey hotsync button on the front has shown wear and tear (literally a tear) and does not operate reliably.
Third, the connection does not always make a connection with the treo. Sometimes my PC will call it an unrecognized USB device and offer to help install it!. Other times, I have to prop the back of the cradle in just the right position so that the treo hangs forward on the hinged connector to get it to make the connection.
With that said, I still use the device. Probably because it was not cheap and does charge the treo and does its other functions reasonably well, some of the time. Would I buy another one to replace this one? No.

Stopped working after a year
User: Frederick Hill, Dec 11, 2007
I liked this cradle while it worked, but like another reviewer said, for $40 the unit should last more than a year. Better to get the $20 model twice. The sync button is what stopped working the unit could still charge my phone.
Overpriced and underengineered
User: T Strait, Apr 10, 2008
Broke after ~1.5 years. A design flaw makes this pretty inevitable. Whenever you push the phone in to connect it, it actually puts all the pressure on the soldered connections inside! These will eventually break and require re-soldering. Also, the sync buttons resistance is created by attaching it with silicone so when that loosens you will be unable to use it to sync as you cannot depress the button. (it just recesses into the case but doesnt "click."
DO NOT BUY THIS CRADLE!!!!!
User: Tom Lang, Oct 23, 2007
Pros: Look nice, thats it!
Cons: Unreliable, poor design, cheap Hotsync button.
It has never worked properly. I continue to get an "Unrecognized" error message with my Treo 700p. My Palm cradle worked perfectly on both my home and work computers. I bought this only because my new case does not fit in the Palm cradle. Seidio will not respond to my request for a refund. I have tried every fix found onthe Internet at a cost of hours of time devoted to this surprisingly terrible product. I say "surprisingly" because my prior experience with Seidio products and their customer service was extremely positive. They obviously know they have a problem with this cradle as they are not responding to me at all. DO NOT BUY THIS CRADLE!
Stopped working and Short warranty
User: Kent Nelson, Sep 19, 2007
Pros: -
Cons: Poor Quality, Short 180 warranty
I had this unit for about 10 months and it stopped working. I called Seidio and they said tough, the warranty is 180 days. While the dock worked fine when it worked, a $40 product should last more than 10 months. Be careful when buying any Seidio product as all their warranties are only 180 days....apparently for good reason.
Dont waste your money
User: Jerry Olsen, Aug 2, 2007
Pros: none
Cons: poorly made, doesnt work and falls apart

The hotsync button didnt work, and the USB connection on the back fell apart when I disconnected it. The socket is hard to connect to my Treo 680. Very poorly made. They forwarded my complaint to the technical support dept..... Dont waste you money on this.
It's a dock that breaks the standards.
User: T. E. Smiley, Mar 21, 2007
Pros: -
Cons: Non-standard USB Cable
I have few complaints about this dock, but the complaint I have is a deal breaker. Any company that breaks with the written standards is a poor company. The standards I refer to are the USB standerds which specify the a USB cable has an A end and a B or mini-B end. It goes against standards for a USB cable to have two A ends, as the cable supplied with the dock is. Minor point if the cable is lost, it'll be near impossible to replace. Major point if this cable is accidentally plugged into 2 computers you could to major damage to one or both PCs.

Shame on you Seidio.
Caused power spike on USB port of PC
User: Steven Brown, Mar 20, 2007
Pros: Style
Cons: Reliability, No spot for charging additional battery
The Seidio cradle never reliably synced with my PC, but I lived with it because over-the-air sync through Verizon Wireless was fine for me. But in the last week, when I plug my Treo 650 into the charger, it causes a power surge on the USB port and locks my docked laptop. I get a Windows popup indicating there was a surge on USB. I've had to disconnect the charger, and it is now bound for the trash heap.

Also, it has no spot for an extra battery.
