I've not had a problem with this product. I have had them for more than 6 months and gave 2 away to friends who also love them. I'm ordering more for another friend that just got a new Treo. We've not had any break on us.

Pros:	tip stays on solid
Cons:	none except a reviewer mixed up the smartphone experts problem stylus with this excellent palm one

The two reviewers at top (who I think are one and the same) did NOT buy the palm stylus pen but bought the smartphone experts model wher the top coming off too easily is a known problem. the palm one has no such problme. this is on the forums

Do not be misinformed. the problem is with the smartphone experts model -- not this palm one!

Great replacement

Pros:	works just like the stylus that came with my Treo
Cons:	I had to buy it

I wish palm would make replacement styli cheaper since they are easy to lose. That being said, this replacement works great.

Cons:	what do i do with the tip?

i bought these cuz there are times when i'm looking for a pen and now i have one in my stylus. the plastic top have not broken off or have i lost them. does the top need to be plastic? couldnt them make it all metal? and i wish i could screw the bottom part to the top when i'm using the pen. these pen stylus are good to have when you have forms to fill out and your seeking everywhere for a pen.

Pros:	Nice light metal construction, convenient pen.
Cons:	Takes a while to unscrew.

This is a great Stylus! It works wonderfully as a stylus, and you also have the convenience of having a pen with you all the time! I hardly go anywhere without my Treo, so the pen has come in handy many many times! Solid construction, by the way.

good and bad

Pros:	pen is at the bottom and won't dry out
Cons:	entire stylus slides in and out with ease

Having owned other stylus with pens, what I like about the palm brand is that the pen is at the bottom of the stylus. With other manufacturer's they sat better in the stylus holder on the 650 but they went in upside down, and the pens dried up rather quickly. I put a slight bend in these to keep them in the phone.

Plastic Part Breaks Off

Cons:	Plastic Tip Breaks Off Expensive.

Ive gone through a number of these over the past few years. The reason? The black tip (the part with the "hook") breaks off eventually. My last 3-pack lasted about a year and a half. If they made the entire thing out of metal, it would be a much better product. The only reason to have the end made of plastic is so they can put in that "recessed button pusher" thing, which is completely unneeded. As a 1-piece, itd probably be cheaper to produce as well (I mean the base, not the screw-off pen portion, which is already metal).
My other problem is that it costs about 2-3 times as much from Palm. I purchased from someone else last time, and I think it was about $7. However, this time Ive tried from Amazon, and theyve screwed up the order twice, so Im done with them, and will find them somewhere else. Damned if Ill pay $14 for them though - especially since I know theyll break!

Ok, But Yes, the Top Easily Breaks. Origanl Better

As others have shared the black top does break easily. The reason, I believe, is that these sytluses do not fit as snug as the original all metal ones. Ive noticed fairly often the stylus partly out by about the length of the black top. I have gone through two of these in less than a year. The original metal stylus never did this. If it is out part way and the phone falls or drops even small distance on anything (carpet, etc.) your stylus is toast. If while sticking part way out while youre holding your phone and the sticking out part of the stylus gets bumped while in your hand, the chances are very high your stylus is toast.

Conceptually these are a great idea. I was glad to have an emergency pen, which of course would be the ONLY reason to get these. But if you do buy them, get a pack or two. If I cant find the original stylus online, then I will have no choice but to buy these. My preference though is the original. Ive been caught many more times without a stylus (because it was broken) than I was without access to a pen. One of mine broke and I dont know how. The top must have caught on something. I thought I forgot to put the stylus away until I noticed it was down in there and the little black piece was on the desk not far away.

Find another brand, breaks too easily

Pros:	Mostly metal construction, looks good
Cons:	Plastic parts break easily making pen useless

I am following the advice of others and trying another brand. The pen is too easily broken.

Pros:	It has a pen
Cons:	The black tips break off very easily

I broke the tip off of one of these just taking it out of my treo, I broke another one picking it up off of my desk.
They are sturdy in the least and a waste of money. I broke two within 30 days, I won't even use the other one.
