HP Veer Palm Air Case

Product Description

Protect your Centro with this strong, lightweight, and practically invisible case. Made of durable polycarbonate, it's sleek and smooth, yet surprisingly strong. Best of all, you can access all of your Centro's features while it's safely inside the case.

To keep the case sleek, slim and less bulky, a belt clip is NOT included or attached with this case.

TC Review: Palm Centro Air Case
Reviewed by Andre Kibbe
In keeping with the current diversity of cases, the Palm Centro Air Case is not the only case available for the Centro. The Seidio Super Slim Crystal Case for Centro is another contender, virtually identical, except for a cutout for the status light, and a shell that’s possible thinner. It’s difficult to make a definitive comparison between the two—unfortunately I don’t have access to the Crystal Case. Seidio’s marketing specifies a 1mm thickness, while Palm makes no specs available—only qualitative descriptions. In forums I’ve come across descriptions of the Air Case that put the thickness at 1.2mm, which seems accurate to my eyes. A 20% difference is definitely worth taking into consideration.

he Air Case is beautifully simple and straightforward, as should be expected with cases of this type. The clear polycarbonate shell is a 2-piece construction that snaps together quite easily. Taking it apart, on the other hand, is another story. I had more than a little trouble finding a way to liberate the Centro after struggling to pry the case’s halves apart. I even had a twinge of concern that I might have to resort to cracking the case if necessary. I would have preferred that Palm had designed one or two insets along the edge to offer some leverage for a coin or fingernail to wedge the case open without excessive force.

The Palm Centro Air Case does exactly what it was designed to do: provide robust protection that’s felt, but not seen. I really like looking at the Centro unobscured, and am glad to see (or, rather, not see) a case that preserves the phone’s look and functionality. Just be prepared to spend some time taking the case apart for the first time. Once you’re used to removing it, the Air Case is as much a pleasure to use as it is to look at.

StarStarStarStarStar If you drop phones dont get this case
User: Eric Hancock, Mar 24, 2008

Pros:  -
Cons:  Difficult to open, does not help when dropping...

I purchased this case hoping it would help me since I drop my phone allot, hoping that it would protect it from damage.

The first day I got the phone in the case the first thing I noticed was how difficult it was to open. Ok, It was not possible to get it off my centro without damaging the case.

As soon as I put the phone in the case I dropped the phone (I drop my phone allot this is why I bought the case). Well after my phone fell, sure there were no scratches everything was fine, and then I received a phone call.

I dont ever have my ringer on because I feel its socially inappropriate to have a cell phone ringing during the day, so I leave it on vibrate.

I see the name flash by, but no vibrate. I look down again, the name again, but no vibrate. I turn the ringer on *diinnnngg*. I believe the case actually caused the shock of the fall to damage the vibrate part of my phone.

Ive dropped my phone before from higher heights and it did not do anything but nick the case. This did it for me, I ripped the case off and burned it with my pencil butane torch.

Dont get this case if you want to protect youre phone from falls. Get one of the belt clips or lanyards!
