Handy for Work

This cradle is great, easy to charge. It even fits the clear plastic case that I keep my Treo in. I can drop it into the charger with no problem. This charger is good for the office, but not that good for your bedstand. The bright blue light, while handy for seeing your charger in the dark, is exceptionally bright and it can keep you up at night. I'd recommend this one for the office.
European wallplug?

Pros: Spare battery charger
Cons: Pourly made.
I bought this thing cause TREO's connection cord that is provided with the 700wx disconnects very easily causing reset syncing. The very first day after recieving this product I went to attach the phone to it and I ended up pushing the connector through the base. It would be a smarter design if they put a brace under the connection port. It cost me 20+ on top of the good price its listed for just to ship to Canada so I didn't send it back. Also with my schedule I couldn't send it back and make it there before the 30 day warranty was up. So I decided to open it up and fix the problem. Inside it looks like the parts were for another base just jammed into the one provided and to top it all off the GLUE JOB INSIDE WAS SLOPPY as hell. I basically cut my loss and like EAZY E said, "THREW IT IN THE GUTTER and GO AND GET ANOTHER". Can anyone recommend a sturdy model?

Like some of the other users I found this unit to be very cheaply made... after only a couple of months of very infrequent use, I heard a crack today while plugging my Treo onto it and now the piece that is supposed to go into the Treo for synchronization/charging is very loose and will not work... I might have to play around with gluing it again, but I am VERY dissappointed with the workmanship.
Nice idea, cheap price, very cheap quality.

Pros: Charge extra battery outside of phone while docking/charging phone
Cons: Very flimsy, odd power configuration
The idea of this device is nifty and ever since having a similar item for my Nextel i1000, Ive been itching to get one for my Treo. The treo likes to eat battery life, so it is very nice to have a charger/docking station that can not only charge the phone (and sync as well) but to charge an additional battery.

Before ordering, I read the reviews here and noticed a couple people pointed out the construction quality was a bit lacking. Against those warnings, I went ahead and purchased this device. Initially it looked fairly solid (as solid as plastic gets) however, the very first time I placed the phone into the cradle, a loud snap/crack was heard....

Upon closer examination, the plug that connect to the phone, broke from the charger base and fell inside the charger ! I did not try to brute force the phone into the charger or exert any large force that I know of, but, evidentally, the charge isnt meant to handle much if any force.

As I am a bit handy, I opened the unit to inspect. The unit is SO flimsy that the small screws that are used on the bottom of the charger almost immediately stripped. Once again, I had an appropriate tool to open and the screws rounded out. (They look a bit stripped to begin with). Eventually I was able to open the case.

Upon opening the case, it was apparent why the charger broke. All that holds the plug in place is glue. The glue also holds the LED indicators in place as well as some of the wiring. It appears whatever glue is used is not meant for bonding to the plastic as a simple tug on the power for the LED caused the LED to break free as well.

I have since removed all of the glue used by the manufacturers and replaced with plastic glue/expoxy and everything has held together just fine. I also used new screws for the case as the old ones were so stripped, they would not secure it back together.

I would hope the manfuacturers read this and spend an extra cent or two to use some higher quality (proper glue/adhesive) to secure the base plug for the phone.
