Pros: good transfer..
Cons: bad documentation
I am using this keyboard with my treo 650 (FW 1.20 ena) and i think it is good. It may be because I have "the good one" piece. I tried palm wireless keyboard too but transfer of text was realy poor.. it is hard to install it but if you do it, it is realy good keyboard..
Freedom retiring Palm from its list
User: PA Cotnoir, Nov 17, 2006

You can read on the Web site of Freedom, this notice:

"Due to technical difficulties with the Universal PALM driver we have temporarily withdrawn it from being downloadable. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and hope to resolve the issue soon."

It speaks by itself!

This Wireless Keyboard Performed Poorly
User: Michael Beckles, Dec 31, 2006
Pros: Small footprint
Cons: Very Poor text rendition; slow to display text; High error rate in skipping of keystrokes
Of all the Treo devices that I have purchased, this device will forever be regarded as the worst. I purchased it at the Palm store in Terminal 9 of Kennedy airport with the main reason being it could also be used for my BlackBerry 8700 which I occasionally use.

The construction of the wireless keyboard seemed good enough although I found the backrest for holding the wireless handset very flimsy. The tip off was the demo unit in the store had a broken backrest also.

The worst part of the device was rendition of the typed text to the device. The error rate was exceedingly high making the device useless for entering data. I tried all the configuration options to improve the accuracy but to no avail. In most cases short words were skipped entirely because the text typed was not displayed. It was faster using the Treo’s own keyboard: enough said.

I would not recommend this wireless keyboard.

Don not buy this junk
User: Laurence Martin, Dec 22, 2007
I have worked the computers and electronic devices for more than thirty years. This is the worst piece of junk I have ever purchased. Throw it away, cut your loses and run. If you try to return it, they just do not accept your mail.
Never even got it installed.
User: Adam Locascio, Feb 19, 2008
Pros: Small, nice design, works for larger hands.
Cons: Actually using it. Installation.
I received my keyboard in the mail today. It is not ready to be used right out of the box. The instruction booklet is written in shorthand with no real specific "directions" on where to go and what to do. Not only that, you have to download the newest driver for your keyboard before it will even work. After you download the driver, you then have to UNLOCK the driver with a unique key that is given to you from the web site. In order to get the key, you have to download and install the driver with a HotSync and then take the code that is given to you to the web.

But heres the kicker: the instruction book doesnt tell you WHERE the code gets installed or how you can view it. It just says the code is "on the screen." Well, thank you for that nugget. When I am looking for information about my phone, I sometimes stare blindly at the stylus and hope for important info to pop up there. It took about 20 minutes of poking around the installed items to find the alpha-numeric code.

Now, you take THAT code and the code that is on the back of the instruction book to the web site to get ANOTHER code to unlock the driver. My instruction book had 2 codes on the back of the book. I tried the first one and got a message that if you screw up the combo ONCE, your phone is locked up and have to email customer service (not CALL, just email). I tried the first one and got the message that the phone was already unlocked (this was a brand new keyboard) and that I had to email customer service (not CALL, just email). I emailed them to find out if I can get the code and realized, "Oh my gosh, Ive spent 4 hours trying to install this thing."

I put the keyboard back in the box and returned it. I never got it to work. Just so much freakin trouble to get this thing to install! My headset took 5 seconds and I did it in the car in heavy traffic. Motorola also had the foresight to make their security code 0000. Wow. So lets just move on and find another keyboard....
