TC Review: Seidio Spring Clip Swivel Holster for Treo 700p, 700w|wx, 650, 600
Reviewed by Jay Gross
For mostly uninhibited accessibility, nothing beats a holster to keep your Treo at the ready. Seidio’s Spring Clip Swivel Holster clips onto your belt or clothing and keeps your Treo’s screen protected while the durability of the phone’s back cover fends off harm. When you pop the phone out, careful of that wide latch on top. It can eject the SD Card.

Just what I was looking for
User: Bill Scheets, Nov 25, 2006
Pros: Treo faces In to protect screen
Cons: Camera lens still exposed, card can pop out
I previously has an i300, and I could never find a case that faced in (like the blackberrys do), and doen't require turning the phone in your hand to get & put away. Consequently had screen damage. This is exactly what I was looking for.

The other reviewer indicated it broke. I've had many cell phones with plastic holsters such as this. They all broke after awhile - dropping, catching on seat belt, etc. Maybe I'm just hard on them, but I expect this, and therefore buy several.

I had trouble with the card popping out, but have fixed this by applying a pice of velcro "felt" next to it (it was at hand & was self-adhesive). It sticks out just far enough so the card doesn't get pushed down, but not so much to effect the catch on the case. IMNSHO, Not a problem with the case - this is a problem with the card slot being too easy to engage.

Too bad the camera lens isn't also protected, but I'm not sure how you'd do that.

Anyone know what the cut-out at the bottom is for?
Have tried them all; this one rocks, so far
User: Bob Robertson, Mar 1, 2007
I am a holster/case/clip FREAK. Started back in the day with the original ProClip, and stuck with that for about three years. Looked at various other ones over time, and none seemed to meet my main criteria:

- Easy insert of the device
- Easy device removal
- Ease of taking the ENTIRE clip off my belt when going through the airport security
- Ability to work with eGrips (an absolute must - LOVE my eGrips)
- I use stereo earbuds, so I need to be able to insert the phone into the holster WITH the earphones attached at the bottom (this along kills many other products)
And I don't want to totally hose up the paint job, if it can be helped.

I really like this one from Seidio so far. Meets all my requirements above. Loving it.
Good Holster
User: James Lundberg, Dec 14, 2006
Pros: Sturdy, keeps phone secure
Cons: Occasionally pops out SD card, a tad expensive
Does a very good job of keeping the Treo in the holster. Only complaint is like others - clip will sometimes cause the SD card to pop out. I had mine for about 6 months before I lost the entire phone, but I am considering getting another one. Never had problems with the swivel feature like some others did.

I think it's a little expensive, but you get what you pay for usually.
Sturdiest so far....
User: Jerry McLellan, Mar 23, 2007
Pros: Sturdy
Cons: Clip no longer clicks, break-in period needed
I've owned a Treo 600, or now a 650, since the first 600 came out several years ago. I'm very hard on cases. This particular case is only the second to last more than a month, and in fact is the longest lasting I've tried. The last holster I tried was supposed to be an improvement, but I could only take it for a week. Had to come back to this one.

Like others, my clip no longer clicks. When I first got the case, the top spring was extremely tight, and caused my SD card to pop out; also had problems with just getting it in and out of the case. Now that it is older, and the top clip a little looser, I have no problem getting my Treo 650 in and out with one hand, and the card only rarely is popped out by the top clip. My phone still stays snug in the holster.

It's not perfect, but it is the best I've tried so far.
Sturdy and Convenient - Doesn't Overcome Palm Design Flaw
User: Dennis Olsen, Dec 30, 2006
Pros: Perfect Holster if not using memory card
Cons: I use a memory card and spring clip hits it.
I have had other holsters. This one is sturdy, easy to put on and take off of belt, and I can feel the vibrations fairly well. I got this holster hoping it would make the memory card more secure, but the spring clip frequently hits the card when I am removing or inserting the Treo. Other than that, it's great!!

I don't know why Palm can't design a Treo that firmly holds memory cards. I have lost three memory cards while using other holsters. I don't think people put memory cards in and take them out all of the time, so Palm could make the cards harder to get out - on purpose or accidently.
