I was looking for a case option that would accommodate several carrying options. I carry my phone on my belt while at work, but in my pocket when Im off and didnt want to have to buy two different cases. The skincase + holster combo seemed like the perfect solution.
First off it came quickly and without any delivery problems. The skincase is great. I have easy access to all the ports/plugs/buttons/switches and the buttons that are covered by the case are molded into the silicone so theyre slightly raised and easy to find and press without looking. I was expecting it to be a super tight fit and a chore to take on/off, however it goes on and off the phone very quickly and easily. Like they say its treated so its not super tacky, however I drove around with it on the dash of a jeep wrangler for 30 minutes and it never slid around. All in all the skin cover is a great buy.
The belt clip on the other hand...... Overall the quality of the holster seems a little.... cheap. The rotation on the clip is very loose and the phone will very easily rotate while in the holster when I want it to stay still. The spring on the clip isnt terribly robust and opens easily, however the hook on the end of the clip holds onto my 2" workbelt just fine. The clip/hook that goes over the top of the phone is actually on a spring hinge (unlike other phone cases where its solid) and is set off to one side, presumably to accommodate treos with external antennas, while I would prefer it being centered. Since it goes all the way over the top and back of the phone (instead of hooking into the top like many Motorola phones for example) its a little more difficult to remove and replace one-handed, especially when the case rotates while youre doing it. The edges of hook are also very rough/sharp and I find my arm getting scraped up by it a good amount.
All in all the build quality on the holster is not what I would like, and Ill probably end up looking for a slide in leather holster to replace the clip for work.
