The case does split apart if the device is dropped, but this DOES help absorb the shock of the drop. The case can easily be put back together.

Poorly made
It came apart as soon as it came out of the package. Plastic is so hard, it scuffs the phone in the holder. The LED for service is obscured.
Does this work with the extra thick battery cover?

After 2 days the case popped open and the lower right corner would not close again. Great idea, poorly executed.
