New Case

I received the new case from treocentral(see previous post). Apparently Case-Mate has made some dramatic changes. This case is much improved over the previous one. It no longer has the pebblestone leather but instead a smooth high quality hide. Furthermore, the holster which was already good. Seems to be even stronger than before. Additionally, the clip appears to be reinforced by stronger materials.

Obviously the company is putting out a better case and holster. Intially i was pissed but now i feel much better. I will update you guys in about 30 days.

This is great! First one I ever had that has a rotating belt clip that doesnt break or refuse to stay where it is put. Have used it for about 4 months now with no problems. Attractive in looks and rugged construction. Phone and inner case have never fallen out of holster. Highly recomended.

Good case, works for me

It has been worth the price and I would buy it again. At the time I ordered this was the only option in this style case/holster. I bought it to replace a snap holster that only lasted 2 weeks. Although the finish wears on the sides immediately, it is still a solid fit and acceptable looking, just worn. I have dropped the treo twice on the road out of my truck, potentially catastrophic, and both times escaped with barely a nick in the exposed top of the phone. The belt clip is quite sturdy but I have been able to knock the unit off by catching on somethign as I walk by. This probably would not have been the case if I clipped it to my belt. Also, consider that this is how I sheared the top off of the first holster I tried.

This Holster combo is actually a great idea. However, the materials(leather)used tends to loosen with time. Initially, I had to really work to get my treo into the case but now it slides in and out with too much ease (34 days). The Holster is another story. It broke on the 30th day. I am currently waiting on another one from Treocentral. However, it does hold the phone in place. The case should come with a zipper or snap to help secure the phone inside. As for the holster loosing its snugness, I have not experienced that yet. Ill see after I receive the new one. Hopefully it doesnt break again.

Clip loosing Shape

Cons:	Clip is loosing its shape and now treo is not secured

The clip that actually holds the phone appears to be molded plastic covered in leather. For some reason two of the clips are staightening out and the Treo 750 is no longer secure in the clip. The company has offered to replace the case but the product is now on back order . . .

Case-Mate Case Belt Clip Broke Twice

I purchased a Case-Mate Signature iPhone Case and Holster combination in the summer of 2007. I loved the protection that the combination of the holster and case provided the iPhone. In November, I was getting into my car and the clip snapped. I presume this had to do with the position of the holster on my hip and the tension created by the movement of my body getting into the car, all of which is intended for the case.

I contacted Case-Mate and explained what had happened. The case and holster otherwise had been cared for properly and were in excellent condition. The Company responded quickly, asked to inspect the broken item, and promptly replaced the defective unit.
About a week ago, I was getting out of my car and the same thing happened. I contacted Case-Mate and explained what happened. This time, they responded by saying that the item is out of warranty and they could not help me. I wrote to them and offered to send them the case to prove that the case was not misused or abused. I asked if I could buy a replacement clip and they said they do not stock them. I called and spoke with Hallie Lieberman in the Consumer and Customer Service department and tried to appeal to her. While she was polite, she basically said that I was out of luck.

I spent $50 on the combination unit. While I do not expect a company to warranty every product for a lifetime, I do expect that a company stand behind their product especially, when the product is breaking in instances of its intended use and otherwise cared for properly. In my opinion, Case-Mate has not. I do not believe that a person carrying a device on their hip in a holster designed to be worn in that position has to be conscious of making ordinary movements and the way they do everyday activities. It seems to me that Case-Mate did not engineer the clip portion of their product properly. This clip portion is not forgiving enough for its intended uses and, as proven in my case, failed twice. I am a business executive and the case was not exposed to extreme conditions it is in excellent condition, save for the clip. My recommendation to anyone considering purchasing a Case-Mate product is to ask them in writing if they are aware of any of their customers having complained about the clips failing on their holsters and if one does fail outside the warranty period, what will the Case-Mate do to accommodate the customer or to remedy the situation.

If they put a good, solid metal belt clip on the holster, this case would be awsome, even at the steep price.

After a month of use, the leather on the holster began peeling off. After six weeks of use, the cheap piece of metal that functions as the "spring" in the clip fell apart in my hands. The manufacturer offered no help, except a 10 discount to re-purchase the product. As if. Its really unfortunate because I love the leather cover, but when the Palm is in it, it doesnt fit into any other holster or belt-worn case. Its essentially a high cost piece of junk once the clip breaks.

Loved it... and left it!

When I first recieved the case/holster combo I was ecstatic. It is by far one of the best looking combos out there very formal looking. I loved the pebblestone finish. It feels great in the hand, doesnt slip in your hand, and offers a fair degree of drop protection. The fit in the holster was a little loose. It fell out on its own once or twice so I had to add some self-stick rubber strips inside the holster to keep it secure. That did the trick. Then one day, I was hoisting by computer bag on my shoulder and heard something hit the ground. It was the phone, in the holster, with the belt clip ripped off. Mad at myself (assuming it was my fault) I ordered another holster. The new one arrive and I discovered they no longer carried the pebblestone leather (despite the picture on the website)... big disappointment! I thought it looked much better, and now my case and holster did not match. I toughed it out since it was only really noticeable to me. But then about another month later, crash! The treo hit the floor with the belt clip ripped off. I am not hard on holsters. I have used treos with belt clips for 5 years and NEVER had one break. This was two in about 4 months. At the cost for the combo set... Im done! So sad... this would have been a 5 star rating. They got it all right, except what should have been the easy part. Many others have complained about the clip. I should have listened.
