Neat tool
User: John Fentner, Oct 12, 2006
Pros:
Small, light, versatile, great photo prints in 4X6 or 8X10
Cons:
Small cartridge capacity, small capacity paper feeder.
I carry the IP90 in the carry-on bag with my laptop and use it to make photo prints on the road. Print quality is as good or better than my bigger desktop HP InkJets. Even with the optional battery pack it is very light and compact. Also does nice text or web page printing which is handy on the road for Email, maps & directions, flight info, boarding passes etc. Pick a hotel with free Wi-Fi and you have a complete system in a bag...and it all fits in the airline overhead bin. BTW...the TreoCentral price is very good, I paid a hundred bucks more for mine when it first came out and still worth every penny.
Haven't tried it with the Treo 650 yet but I see no reason why it wouldn't work just as well with that. Handles paper sizes up to 8.5X11 with no problem. It NEVER jams or double feeds. It's even fast, compares to the DeskJets easily.
Only drawbacks:
a. Small cartridge capacity (about 10 high quality full color 8X10s will run 'em out) but it will do a ton of 4X6s or lots of text or web pages.
b. Paper feeder doesn't hold much, particularly heavy photo paper.
But, hey, it's light and tiny and it's not designed to be your primary printer. The cartridges are small and nearly weightless so you can carry spares in minimal space.
So load Elements on your laptop, pack the IP90 and the Nikon D50 and head for Key West. You can wow the locals printing photos of the beach bunnies right on the bar at Capt'n Tony's Saloon. Or use it for honest work...if that's your idea of a good time. ;)
